It is not uncommon for law enforcement officials to make a mistake during a DUI arrest. Important procedures can be missed or field sobriety tests improperly administered. First Time Offenses - You May Not Have a Lasting Record
Even if you are convicted, you may be eligible for Accelerated Rehabilitation Disposition (ARD). ARD is a program for first time offenders that may allow you to avoid jail time and license suspension. It may also provide you with an opportunity to keep your record clean. In negotiating your sentence, I will strive to have you admitted to ARD.
Options for Repeat Offenders
If you are convicted of a second or third DUI offense, the Intermediate Punishment Program (IPP) may allow you to minimize jail time. Prior to sentencing, I can assist you with filing an application with the Chester County Probation and Parole Department. If granted, an IPP can include a flat period of incarceration, community service or enrollment in a treatment program.
